Manila, March 9, 2016 — The Professional Regulation Commission hereby informs all those who passed the February 2016 Licensure Examination for Real Estate Brokers (LEREB) in Manila of the schedule of their initial registration at the PRC – Ground Floor, Main Building:

The February 2016 Real Estate Brokers Exam results are out, and a total of 5,499 out of 9,749 who took the exam passed. That’s a passing rate of 56.4058% for the Real Estate Brokers Licensure exam given last February 28, 2016 by the PRC-PRBRES.

3. Registration procedure, requirements

As per PRC instructions, the registration for the issuance of Professional Identification
Cards or ID’s and Certificates of Registration shall be done online at prc.gov.ph, starting on March 14, 2016.

Furthermore, those who will register are required to bring the following to the PRC:

  • Duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal
  • Current Community Tax Certificate (cedula)
  • 1 piece passport size picture (colored with white background and complete nametag)
  • 2 sets of metered documentary stamps
  • 1 short brown envelope with name and profession
  • Submission of Original Surety Bond, minimum amount of which is P 20,000.00, with the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC)/Housing and Land Use Regulatory Board (HLURB) as Obligee.

PRC’s instructions also stated that “Successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.”

4. Oathtaking ceremony

As per announcement from the PRC, the date and venue for the oathtaking ceremony of the new successful examinees in the February 2016 real estate brokers licensure exam will be announced later.

5. When will be the next real estate brokers licensure exam?

The next real estate brokers licensure exam will be on May 22, 2016. This will be the first exam where a Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate Service is required, since there will already be graduates of real estate courses by then. I have quoted below SECTION 14 (b) of the RESA Law IRR, which pertains to this requirement (emphasis ours):

A holder of a relevant bachelor’s degree from a state university or college, or other educational institution duly recognized by the CHED: Provided, That he/she has completed at least one hundred twenty (120) credit units of real estate subjects and training from accredited service providers, as may be determined by the Board; Provided, further, that as soon as a course leading to a Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate Service is implemented by the CHED, the Board shall make this course a requirement for taking the licensure examination
