The Angat Pilipinas Coalition for Financial Literacy aims to recognize people who are helping fellow Filipinos become financially literate with the “First Angat Pilipinas Financial Literacy Awards Night” this coming April 16, 2015 at the SM Aura Convention Center, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City, Philippines. Check out the details below.
During the Usapang Foreclosed Property Investing seminar held last March 21, 2015, we heard an introduction for the Angat Pilipinas Coalition for Financial Literacy. Even if I was focused on the topics I was about to cover, I heard more than enough to know that we share the same advocacy.
I have said it before, and I will say it again, I truly believe that financial literacy is a prerequisite to real estate investing. Taking it further, I believe that the lack of financial literacy is one of the reasons why a lot of properties end up in foreclosure.
It’s obvious that there is a need to support the advocacy of spreading financial literacy and I’m glad that the Angat Pilipinas Coalition for Financial Literacy is doing just that.
In relation to this, they also want to recognize those who do their part in supporting this advocacy, which is why they will be celebrating the “First Angat Pilipinas Financial Literacy Awards Night” this coming April 16, 2015 at the SM Aura Convention Center, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City, Philippines. The Angat Pilipinas Awards (APA) is truly a very unique event that aims to recognize the people who do their part with helping to empower Filipinos to become financially literate, in alignment to everyone’s goal of achieving financial freedom.
The Angat Pilipinas Awards will unveil the awardees for the following:
- Finance Blogger of The Year
- Influential Author of The Year
- Financial Institution of The Year
- Advocacy Partner of The Year
- OFW Advocate of the Year
Honestly, I was surprised people voted for me in the Personal Finance Blogger of the Year category, even if I haven’t been actively blogging about personal finance. Actually I haven’t been blogging actively for the most part of 2014… period! My main focus has been on my health in 2014. Nevertheless, I am very thankful to those who voted for me (personally, I am rooting for Fitz Villafuerte of Ready To Be Rich).
Anyway, my wife and I look forward to attending this even, which is co-presented by Manila Workshops with SMX Aura Premier as their official venue partner. It is also sponsored by Globe myBusiness, Truly Rich Club, Real Estate Maven, Adarna House Publishing, Ayala Land (Alveo) and DMCI., with special thanks to David’s Salon, and ForeclosurePhilippines.com.
A night of celebration, fun, and focus…
The event also features Miriam Quiambao, EntrepChamp Paulo Tibig, and brother Bo Sanchez, with live performances by Filipino music guru and advocate Joey Ayala, the VoicePH finalist Darryl Shy, spoken word+poetry+music artist Kooky Tuason, singer-songwriter-multi-instrumentalist Nityalila, and indiepop band Vinyard.
As you can see, this event will be a night of celebration, fun, and focus on encouraging financial independence in our country.
